Lebanon - India Businessmen Forum
Lebanon India Businessmen Forum (LIBF) was launched in 1995, by Mr. Johnny Rodolphe Saade and Mr. Rashid Beydoun under the auspices and support of H.E. Mr. S. Sivaswami, Ambassador of India through several activities and contacts with concerned Businessmen and officials of Beirut Chamber of Commerce, Industry & Agriculture of Beirut , Tripoli & Saida, prior to its formal registration. The Forum received its Registration number 122/AD from the Ministry of Interior; Republic of Lebanon on 27th June 2001 .
H.E. the Ambassador of India is the honorary chairman of the Forum. Mr. Rashid Beydoun, vice-president of Beirut Chamber of Commerce, Industry & Agriculture was elected chairman of the Establishing Committee in 1997 and chairman of the Executive Board in 2002
Objectives :
. To promote and develop Lebanon-India bilateral economic & trade relations.
. To encourage mutual investments and establish contacts with investors & business community in Lebanon & India .
. To exchange information in fields of business, statistics, culture and art in order to establish a permanent database on Lebanon and India In order to achieve its objectives the LIBF undertakes the following activities:
Compile, create & disseminate information on export-import market, policy & procedural formalities and trade barriers...
Explore the possibilities for export-import market and identify; the items of export-import potential by undertaking market surveys and issue of reports & periodicals.
Provide effective liaison with public & private institutions, trading houses in order to enhance trade, investments, & cultural relashionship
Organize and participate in conferences, seminars, cultural activities, Trade fairs, trade delegations to explore markets in both countries.
A permanent commitee to expedite sorting out various issues, trade disputes arising between Lebanese & Indian businessmen
